Make Life Better Evening Classes – starting October 29th, Clifton Bristol

Do you want the good news or the great news?

The good news is that (at the time of writing) there’s still time to become part of the next Make Life Better group. We are assembling next Tuesday (29th October) for the first of 4 Tuesday evenings to pay attention to FINDING OUR FOCUS, CHANNELLING OUR CONFIDENCE and MAKING LIFE BETTER. And not making life better in some abstract or even delusional positive thinking way, but better by learning ways to make tangible, noticeable, enjoyable improvements to our own daily lives.

Vessels of Honour

Listening to Oprah’s podcast again, this time with Tim Storey, I’m struck by his phrase, “a vessel of honour”. Those who know me will know my love of words. I love how words sound together, how they conjure up images and feelings, and how the right words at the right time can elevate us to lighter moods and higher outlooks.

So, today I’m being a vessel of honour. And it feels great. To me it means that I set aside my doubts and concerns, my self-pity and my fears, and I fill myself with optimism and possibility. I ask, “What if today was going to be a great day? What if I could let things be easy? What if I could shine like the star I am from now til dusk? What if this blog could pretty much write itself as I allow myself to rise above the fear of judgement and the risk of failure?

Being a vessel of honour asks me to stand a little taller and breathe a little deeper. But it’s not just that. Being a vessel of honour calls me to awaken within and let my heart fully open into the moment. Connecting with my honour stirs my courage. Connecting with my honour reminds me that I have gifts to share and help to offer.

It’s with this openhearted courage that I invite you to the next stop on the Tribe of Thrive train.

Elevate Your Mind!

DuringElevate the last few weeks I’ve been enjoying the Elevate app – available for iPhone / iPad and Android. It’s a brain training program with a daily workout that just takes a few minutes to complete.

Elevate say, “Elevate is a brain training program designed to improve focus, speaking skills, processing speed, memory, math skills, and more. Each person is provided with his or her own personalized training program that adjusts over time to maximize results.”

Research increasingly tells us that taking a break after 90 minutes of focus is the most effective way to operate (read this article for a nice overview), and Elevate is a really fun way of not just encouraging you to take the break, but to do something positive and refreshing in it.
